The Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest is a co-educational youth basketball program sponsored by the Elks National Foundation. Highlighting the Elks commitment to America’s youth, the Hoop Shoot begins at the local level with Elks Lodges. From there, participants advance through district, state, and regional competitions. Of the millions of young people who participate and advance, six national champions are named—one boy and one girl from each of three age groups: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13. The winners of the national competition each receive a trophy and their names are inscribed on a plaque housed in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Parents accompany contestants throughout each level of the competition. The parents of finalists at the state, regional and national levels attend the competitions as guests of the Elks.

We invited all Eagles from the ages of 8 to 13 to come Compete, Connect, and Succeed!

Congratulations to all our Crozet students on a fantastic first quarter from the Physical Education department!  We are excited for all the successes from the first nine weeks of school, and are eagerly awaiting the many more to come.  We have some amazing things coming up in the second quarter!  As reminder to all students that it is super important that you remember to wear you tennis shoes to Physical Education class every time!  Proper footwear allows you to move around safely, and allows you to move and exercise to your full ability.  Water bottles are also nice to have as a sure fire way to stay hydrated without missing any class time!

Ms. Laine was recognized for receiving the Shannon Foundation Grant to paint the United States map on our black top for P.E. activities!  We have finished the map and we have starting using it to get students moving while learning about Social Studies, Geography, directions, and colors.  Thank you Ms. Laine for putting in the hard work to apply for the grant and for all of the painting!
