Congratulations!

Congratulations to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in their age group in the Crozet hoop shoot.  All students who chose to take part were allowed 10 basketball free throws.  We even had to have some shoot-offs because of close contests. A big thank you to the Elks National Foundation for sponsoring the contest and providing the place ribbons.

Eagles in Action!

Bringing outside winter activities into the gym.  We have been ice skating and snowmobiling during PE on these cold days.

Breaking the Guinness World Record Again

On November 17,  315 Crozet students were part of breaking a Guinness World Record for "most people sport stacking at multiple locations in one day".  Our school was one of 2,590 schools from 30 countries to set a new record of 622,809 stackers.  This topped last year's record by more than 4,000 stackers. Congratulations Crozet!

Eagles in Action!

Our first PE buddy day of this school year.  We had some talk time to get to know our buddies.  We did some Over, Under, Around.  Then we finished up with a pizza battle trying to decide which type of pizza (cheese or pepperoni) was the best.

Welcome Back!

We are so excited to welcome our students back to Crozet! We are looking forward to another great school year full of physical activity, learning and fun! All students will have PE 4 days a week and should come ready to move with sneakers on their feet! Try to bring a water bottle as we may go outside and the water fountain is not close by!

2016 Virginia Discovery Museum Discovery Dash!

This Saturday at Monticello High School several of our Crozet Eagles participated in the 2016 Discovery Dash! Crozet was well represented, the students ran hard, had a lot of fun, won some great prizes and demonstrated amazing sportsmanship! We are so proud of our runners!

Our two relay teams participated in the school relay race, a one mile race in which each runner runs one lap around the track! Several area schools brought out teams to battle it out and see who would take home the coveted Discovery Cup! Though both Crozet teams gave it their all and battled until the finish line we were unable to bring the trophy back to Crozet. We will be back next year for sure in another effort to bring the Cup back home!

A BIG THANK YOU to the parents of our racers for their support before, during and after the race! We couldn't have done it without you!

Our teams this year were:

Team 1
Marcus Vieira
Nathan Selmer
Max Vieira
Max Tungate

Team 2
Seth Bearley
Brooks Kaylor
Jack Isley
Ella Wagner

We were also represented by other Crozet students who signed up on their own to run, Ella and Delaney Wagner raced in the Girl/Girl Sibling race and took third place! Delaney also took 3rd place in the girls half-mile race! Congratulations girls!

Eagles in Action!

As a follow-up to our Jump Rope for Heart activity, last Friday was our water balloon toss day.  Any student raising $25 or more for Jump Rope for Heart got a water balloon for every $25 they raised to throw at teachers who were willing to be on the firing line. Several brave teachers were targets for the 287 water balloons our students earned.

Tennis Day at Crozet!

Students played tennis in PE all day.  1st graders had the opportunity to be on the QuickStart tennis courts with players from the UVA men’s tennis team and the Western Albemarle girl’s tennis team.  Then came the big announcement from Miss Lynda (“the tennis lady”) that the 1st graders got to keep the tennis racquets they were playing with and would also get a bag of balls. Thank you to QuickStart tennis!
