hoop shoot
As part of our basketball unit, students had the choice to take part in a free throw shooting contest. Each participant got 10 free throws. They competed against other students in their gender and age group. 96 of our 196 third, fourth, and fifth graders chose to take a risk and compete. Thanks to the local Elks club for providing ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Above is a picture of our ribbon winners.

Star Wars
On May 4th we celebrated Star Wars Day. We had light saber practice and then played Death Star Capture.
Cinco de Mayo
We celebrated Cinco de Mayo by doing the Mexican Hat Dance using the parachute as our sombrero. We also played taco tag and had to do burrito rolls.
Water balloon toss
The final event for Jump Rope for Heart was our water balloon toss at the teachers. For every $25 raised by a student during Jump Rope for Heart they earned a water balloon to toss at the teachers. This year there were 336 water balloons flying at the wall above the teachers and getting them soaked.

Scrabble day
On April 13, we celebrated Scrabble day. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders developed their own word lists from the letters they collected. Knd, 1st, and 2nd grade were given word lists and then had to hunt for their specific letters from an assortment of letters.
